MIT Changes for 2010

The following plan changes will be effective Jan. 1, 2010:

  • HSA Plan I: This plan will now pay at 100% in-network after satisfaction of the deductible.
  • HSA Plan II: This plan will be re-named HSA III.
  • Choice Plus Option: You will now be able to choose whether you want the plan to pay at 80%/60% or 70%/50%.
  • HD Option: Will be re-named HD/1000. This plan will also allow you to choose whether you want the plan to pay at 80%/60% or 70%/50%.

As a health insurance provider that strives to offer unique, exclusive benefits to our members, we are excited to offer you new plan choices for 2010. You will be able to add Package B (office visit co-pay & drug card) to any of these new plans. New plans include:

Major Medical Plans:

1. HD/1500: $1,500 in-network deductible, $1,500 out-of-network deductible, with a choice of co-insurance at either 80%/60% or 70%/50%.

2. HD/2000: $2,000 in-network deductible, $2,000 out-of-network deductible, with a choice of co-insurance at either 80%/60% or 70%/50%.

HSA Plans:

1. HSA Plan II: $2,500 single/$5,000 family deductible and will pay at 100%/60%.

2. HSA Plan IV: $3,500 single/$7,000 family deductible and will pay at 100%/60%.

 

If you elect to make a change to your current plan, please download and complete an election form and return it no later than Dec. 31, 2009. Changes received after this date will not be accepted.

As always, unique benefits offered by Members’ Insurance Trust will still be made available to you. These benefits are only available to members of MIT and include the following:

  • Surviving spouse benefit for physicians
  • 100% portable for physicians
  • Dependents can be covered up to age 25 – regardless of school status
  • Retiree benefit for physicians
  • Employees who have been employed for at least 5 years, and are at least 55, may retire with the plan and keep until eligible for Medicare
  • Includes disability coverage for all staff – excluding physicians – at no additional cost
